The Three Little Crofters

A whole school pantomime written mainly by the pupils themselves was performed to a full hall on Friday the 18th December. View a slide show of some of the photos from the show. All the pupils were involved in one way or another. In addition to acting and singing, pupils were involved with sound- Angus MacInnes and Robbie Anderson, Lights - Sean Brady, Sarah Macdonald and Jessica Thompson. For cast see programme . Thanks again to the large number who turned out to watch the show and gave so generously in donations and in buying raffle tickets.

 

 

Science Buggies Competition

Winning team with Mrs MacCafferty, Mr Maclean and Mrs Matheson
Sgoil Phaibil Primary 7 pupils were the Western Isles winners of the Balloon Buggies Science Competition. This was a follow up to a Balloon Buggies Workshop, where they had to illustrate their investigative skills in designing their buggies. They were presented with certificates and a large box of K'nex Construction Material by Helen MacCafferty, Science Coordinator.

Bring and Buy

Primary Choir

The Primary Choir entertained the large crowd that turned out on Friday 6th Nov to support the school at a Bring and Buy Sale. The some of the many teddies for saleevent was well supported by parents, families and the wider community with the magnificent sum of £1577 raised towards school funds. The headmaster and staff are once again indebted to all who continue to support the school. Thank you all very much.

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal

pupils helping to get Christmas boxes ready
Paible School once again supported the Blythswood Christmas Shoebox Appeal. With the support of Kilmuir Church of Scotland, a total of 80 boxes were collected and made up. Thanks to Uist Parcel Service for transporting them free of charge.

Wear it Pink Day

Pupils and staff wore something pink on Friday 30 October to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Primary pupils also ran a pink tucktop where delicious baking made in the school was sold at breaks. A total of £229.04 was raised. The school is once again indebted to the pupils and their parents for supporting this worthy cause.

Science Workshop
On Tuesday 27 October, pupils of P6-S2 travelled to Sgoil Lionacleit to take part in science workshops sponsored by Dynamic Earth and the Scottish Seabird Centre and enthusiastically delivered by Ann o'Brian, seconded from Musselburgh Primary School. Pupils participated in practical work on topics such as wow! that was cool!!volcanoes, pollution, energy and sustainability. Guess what Andrew is holding?Issues of climate change were highlighted and the importance of living our lives without using up precious Earth's resources that those who come after us will also need. xWe are grateful to Sgoil Lionacleit for inviting us and in particular to Mr Hogg Science Dept for making all the arrangements. A great afternoon.
