Extra Curricular Activities
There are many opportunities for pupils to be involved in activities outwith the timetabled schoolday.
During terms 2 and 3 a programme of lunchtime activity is offered to pupils. In terms 1 and 4 they are encouraged to be outside. The most recent menu of lunch-time activities includes:
Games P1-2, Chanter Club, Reading Time P1-7, Highland Dancing P1-7, Computing P1-7, Knitting Workshop P4-7 and Choir P3-7
During the school year, parties of pupils make a number of trips to various events and venues including :-
- Local Barra Mod
- National Mod (some pupils accompanied by family)
- Drama Festival
- North of Scotland Athletics Championships
- Active Schools Sports Sessions
- Sponsored Fun Run
- De-an-nis
Other sporting activities include school football, rugby, hockey, basketball, cross-country running and athletics competitions, as well as the inter-schools sports.
We believe it vital that pupils should enjoy participating in sport, while recognising the long-term benefits for health.

First sporting event of the new session saw Paible welcome Glenurquhart High School Girls Football team for an afternoon of football matches on Friday 3rd September. The younger Paible Girls were no match for the more experienced and older mainland girls who play on a regular basis in the Bank of Scotland Inverness League. Our boys provided them with stiffer opposition comfortably winning their game.
